Goals (Are they even important?)

It may seem a dumb question, but is goal setting even necessary?

Well, to put it bluntly, yes. Unequivocally yes.

The thing is, we’re always setting goals - both consciously and subconsciously. It's human nature.

Remember that your subconscious mind is far more powerful than your conscious mind.

And if you don’t take control of your subconscious mind, it will always be aiming at something…

...just something you’re not deciding to aim at.

Where we want to get to is where your subconscious mind is aiming at what you consciously want.

But all too often, our subconscious mind is aiming at safety.

And safety means staying still.

Safety means boredom and frustration.

Because safety means not doing anything to rock the boat.

If you’re letting your aim choose itself, you’re never going to reach your potential.

You’re always going to be thinking you could have done more and second guessing yourself.

You’re always going to have your negative self-talk berating you.

Which means you’ll probably take that frustration into the rest of your life too.

So, you can either let your aim wander. Or you can aim high. As high as you possibly can.

Do that enough and your subconscious will be aligned with your conscious desires.

This is why step 2 of the Mindset Rx’d Method is so key. In Aiming Up, we’re taking control of your subconscious story and of your success.

Of course, there’s more nuance than SMART goals, so keep that in mind…

But how important is goal setting? Vital.
